News/Outside the Inner Circle, Looking In

First off, I want to give a quick thanks to all the love, messages, and contacts I've been getting lately on Twitter, Recon, GearFetish, YouTube/Solebaring (and I do hope to hear from you again, culshawfeet--your proposition sounds interesting), Formspring (and I do love getting questions!), and email (sorry I didn't write sooner, Jake! Hope to hear from you!). Things were pretty dry in the beginning of the year, and I was a bit down, but I'm feeling much better now, thanks to all of you. Keep it up, I love hearing from people!

Don't forget that I now gave in and have a Tumblr, too. Don't get me wrong, this will continue to be my main blog, and still updated daily. The tumblr will be updated very randomly, as I feel like it, mostly with pics that straddle the line between gear, feet, and bondage. And some occasional humor. But I do have a folder of pics set aside just for it. So go follow. If you have, you already know there's an animated toe curling gif of the pic below. I hadn't started off trying to make an animated gif, but I noticed a series of pics I took recently seemed to have the qualities of one.

Onto something that started as a bit of a rant, but ended up feeling pretty good...

Sometimes I feel like I'm in such an unusual position. On one end, this blog is becoming fairly prominent in the fetish community, and I'm beginning to connect with more fetish people via Twitter. I've had a few people contact me through various social networks and refer to this blog as a big deal, and that I'm a bit of a solebrity. Okay, I made that last word up, but I kinda like it. ;)

At the same time, I'm completely isolated from everyone, playing essentially only with my BF and a very rare few. I've never been to IML, MAL, West Coast Rubber, or anything of the like, and probably never will (at least not in the near future). This is primarily out of respect for my BF, who has justifiable privacy and job security concerns. As do I, for that matter.

I used to feel pretty bad about that, and I still sort of do. But then I also realized something else. I move in a lot of very large communities. Mostly due to work. Within work, I have at least three other large community work circles that I move in, and to be honest, in a fairly prominent manner. How do I manage that? It's as if I were a talented guitar player. (I'm not, but it's going to serve as an excellent example.) Say I've played with various bands... those are some circles right there. Sometimes instead of electric guitar, I can also play acoustic... which lends itself to an entire different style of music and therefore, another circle. Many of these circles have some people overlapping, but they're largely separated. Then say I also teach guitar classes. Another circle. Get the idea? My life circles are sort of like that. Add to that the circles of my family, my friends, and my BF, and his friends.

Now add fetish stuff. Which is a circle where I don't really have anyone who overlaps (aside from my BF). It's essentially it's own circle. None of my other work circles know about the fetish circle, and vice versa.

This was a greeting card in a store. I feel this way sometimes with my regular friends. If they only knew. ;)

Sometimes that drives me crazy. I used to sort of lament the fact I can't do more in the fetish world. To a certain degree, I still do. Really, I'd love to show my face and be more open, participate, and go to events. But on some reflection, as much as I enjoy fetish, this blog, and all that goes with it, I think I'm now fairly content with where I stand. I realized that I am doing some contribution just by keeping up and maintaining this blog like I do. And knowing I'm also so productive in so many other circles oddly gives me a sort of satisfaction. If more does happen fetish-wise, I certainly won't argue it. But in the meantime... I have a great boyfriend who already caters to nearly all of my sexual needs, and the fetish scene already has a lot of great leaders and spokesmen--Tynan Fox, Metalbond, Ruff's Stuff, and Mr. Kristofer immediately jump to mind. I think I'm now quite happy with where I'm at here. I'll just keep posting away, writing away, and, true to my title, baring my sole. Doin' my little bit off to the side. And I hope you all enjoy it.

I know it's very common in England, but here in the States, game shows with gunge (aside from from the occasional children's show) are fairly rare here. So we now jump at the opportunity of seeing one of those ridiculous Mtv reality challenge uber-hyper-sexy men with no self-esteem douse their bodies in honey.

On a side note, I don't really know this guy well, but he's apparently Justin Willman, the host of Cupcake Wars. Which I never watch, but maybe now I should. Cute, in any case.

I like them more when used as part of a larger scene. If I have a slave who needed to be fairly active in their service to me (fetching me a drink, cleaning, sucking my cock, etc.), then I think they'd be a good match. But personally, when used only as simple restraint in and of itself, there's too much freedom in them for me to get too into them, unless they're combined or altered in a way to more them more restrictive.

Hmmmm, this is a great question. Well, I love sniffing and worshiping rank & smelly feet. You could argue that doesn't really qualify as torture. So in terms of pain, I like clothespins and light bastinado alternated with licking. Hot wax is fun. Also predicament torture, such as my big toes tied to my balls. Don't know if you'd really count food smashing, but I like that too.

Am I the only person without a tumblr?

Now don't get me wrong. There are some tumblrs out there I enjoy quite a bit... I've linked to them in my blog roll. But as a whole, it just doesn't interest me. My problems with them include:

Most of them look alike
They generally only post a couple of pics at a time
They just repost & share the same pics over and over and over and over...
They're a pain to search
There's typically very little in the way of text

Personally, I enjoy longer and more detailed posts. And mixing in lengthy text when necessary. As you know. ;)

But at the same time, I do see the writing on the wall. They definitely are gaining in popularity. And I do have to admit that it's nice to not have to click an extra "Do you realize this contains adult content?" button before viewing.

Side note: Although part of me wonders how much longer that will go on. As other articles have stated, the social network Ning (which used to host the original feet.tv) kicked off all of it's adult content due to people complaining that any minor could easily access adult content. Will tumblr have to do the same one day? Time will tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if that day ever comes, or at the very least, they add a warning page as well.

Okay, I do have a tumblr account. Originally, it was so I could contact and comment on other tumblrs. I hardly have anything up on mine at all. (Despite that, I have a couple followers!) Part of me says I'm pretty busy already managing two blogs and a Twitter. But I can see myself posting pics over there that couldn't be easily posted here, either because they blur the line between bondage and gear fetish, are uncategorizable, focus on candid male feet (which I do enjoy quite a bit, and don't usually get to post here), or have a more humorous and/or irreverent bent. I think a tumblr could be used well to that end.

Not to mention the fact that I'm seeing a few pics of mine floating around on tumblr... and a few with the tags cut off. I think I need to represent myself when that occurs.

So I think I am going to go for it. Now, I don't see my Tumblr account ever overtaking this blog... this will always remain as my main blog for the foreseeable future. Take a look at the pics currently in my Twitter feed to get an idea of content. I think I'll make the Twitter pics more directly related to things in my real life (such as candid male feet, my feet, my outfits, hot guys I see on the street, etc.), and the tumblr will be more net finds. Although the line may cross once in a while.

There's not much there yet, but feel free to visit and/or follow TiedFeetGuy Tidbits on Tumblr. Updates will be pretty random over there, without any predictable schedule. But some of you may enjoy it.

My local area is just a Den of Inequity; Possible Blog Interruptions

So it's no secret I live in North Hollywood... I list that in just about every social network profile I'm on (although not here, both out of request for my BF, and the fact Los Angeles is easier to identify with international readers, of which I get many). For those who don't know the Southern California area, it's just north of Universal Studios Hollywood. Just inside an area known as "The Valley". My particular area is not really known for anything in particular, although it's Arts District is growing. Some parts of it are quite nice, and others, not so much. Like most cities, I imagine.

But I'm finding out NoHo (as we locals call it) has quite the perverted side. First of all, I believe Hard Heroes/Can-Am Productions are based here--at least, according to their "Contact Us" page, they are. They do mostly gay-themed wrestling videos, but their Hard Heroes branch focuses on lycra-clad guys. Sometimes wrestling, sometimes bondage. Their works seems good, although they tend to focus on the hunky, muscular guys, which isn't as much my sort of thing. In any case, that was interesting to find out.

Then I discovered Threshold. This is a pansexual bondage club. My BF and I were briefly members, but due to our schedule, we were never really able to participate in much there. Although it did look like a good club, with private rooms often available for rental. Also, I do know that many other groups host bondage events there quite often, such as Avatar, West Coast Rubber, Anvil, and probably others. It's all volunteer run, so sometimes it takes a while for things to get processed, but it's still a great resource.

But now I recently found out that there is another dungeon in the area, Lair De Sade! This group has another large group facility. They seem to cater more to the hetero side of things, although they are open to gay couples.

Just when I thought there couldn't be any more, I just also ran into Ruffhouse via a local Recon profile. This one was new to me; anyone know more about it?

It also should be noted that the SoCal Men's Bondage Club also meet in the area. Who knew there was so much perversion in my little hometown? ;)

Sock Poll Results; No Anal--Revisited a year later

After being up for two weeks, here's how the sock poll turned out:

I'm actually a bit surprised at how many of you kinks out there manged to wear your socks for a month or longer. Not far off from 20%! That was a bit surprising to me. Why don't more of the guys who fall into that category send me pics of these socks? I only heard from a few of you; I'd still love to know more about what condition they were in, how smelly they were, and what finally made you stop. Phil666666 sent me some pics of his shoes and socks, and I suppose the sort of self-explain why he had to stop wearing them.

So about a year ago I made the post down below, with the highlighted text. (Original post here if the background bothers you.) I'm reposting it again because I've heard from a few people, who write me all this time later, and say it was one of the most memorable posts I've done. It's time to revisit the topic, I think.

So my BF and I recently had physicals after switching doctors. And we were both independently told that we each have larger than normal prostates. This may answer something that may surprise many gay men--we don't care for anal sex.

In light of our doctor's revelation, this may not be that surprising... a larger prostate makes anal sex uncomfortable. But many of you may be surprised to know that my partner and I, in a nearly 5 year relationship, have never had anal sex, nor are we even interested in it.

That said, I have played a bit with anal--basically, light fingering (by myself, not my partner), and small buttplugs. By the way, do you have any idea how difficult it was to find a small buttplug? They nearly don't exist! I do like it at times, but it's pretty rare, and I really have to be in the mood for it for it to be enjoyable. And even then, the plug can't stay in too long. I also can't deny that I do get turned on by the thought (and pictures) of a foot/toes wriggling in my ass--although I think it'd be even hotter to be a top in that situation.

But more often than not, it's just not something on our agenda. Our sex is mostly bondage, feet, lycra, oral and/or jerk off. With a lot of teasing, CBT, TT, etc. thrown in. But we're quite happy with that, and we don't feel like we're missing out!

In a related story, many of you know that we own a bondage bed. Well, we customized it with extra hooks, but that was about it. When we put in the final order, they guy asked us, "Are you sure you don't want the sling extenders?" This was an extra charge, and we said no. He asked us again if we were sure, and we said yes, wondering why he was being so insistent. It seems we were the first couple he could remember that ordered the bed without the sling extenders. Hmmmmm.

At first, I thought we were an exception. But a long time ago, there was a thread on the old Dreamcaps message board (now gone, but reborn again as JustADream), where lots of guys started confessing that they weren't into it either. And I've recently seen some GearFetish and Recon profiles stating similar. It's especially surprising given that pornographic images nearly always seem to culminate with it, as if it's a given. When I watched porn, I almost never made it to the end, because the anal stuff bored me.

So now I'm curious. With the new year here, it's time to confess. Are you interested in anal sex, or not? I'm going to guess it will, indeed, be a minority... but I'm also thinking that we may be surprised at how many aren't into it.

At the time, I did have a poll on the subject. After leaving it up for about a week or two, it turned out that while 60% of people did have anal sex, 40% have little to no interested in it. Which is quite a surprise to me, and still is. As well as the number of people I continually hear about that aren't into it. So let's do another poll and see how it turns out this time.

As for my BF and I, our views really haven't changed at all. After 6 years of being together, we still have yet to have anal sex. There are other reasons why the idea is a bit frightening to me now (along medical related lines), but that's a bit personal at the moment. The main point I do have to say is that our sex life does not feel unfulfilled in the least, as this blog attests too. So it can be done. I also have to admit that even most of my prior relationships, when I was still dating, rarely had anal sex. I guess I've been "lucky" in that sense that I've mostly been with partners that also weren't interested in that particular activity (or just had a very mild, passing interest).

I can really only think of two guys in my entire life that I dated who were very into anal sex, and of course they were both tops. Although they both never pushed it on me too much (no pun intended), as they knew how hesitant I was. One guy, I never did have anal sex with (although I did tie him up when we lived together in college... maybe I should tell that story one day). The other guy surprised me by saying he was interested in fucking me, but after some initial fooling around, he had me lie down on my back, put a condom on me, and then fucked me. Which I had no idea was coming. It was the first and only time I have topped analy in my life. When I asked him about it afterwards, he stated that as he was fooling around, it was clear I was a bit too tight, and would have been in pain (which I think would have been very true, especially now that I know I have an enlarged prostate, which does make anal sex for me somewhat unpleasant). So he just switched gears for me.

But I want to know about the rest of you who feel the same way. Do you have a difficult time finding partners who feel similar? Or, if you are very into anal sex, have you met/dated/fooled around with someone who wasn't?

What's going on at Captured Heroes

It's a new year! And with it, I want to get some feed back from you readers (after most of you have sobered up, that is). ;)

If you saw on twitter, I've been wearing the same pair of socks for about 12 days now. That doesn't include two pairs of other socks of mine that I've worn off and on for at least three months without washing them. Keep in mind, on those last pairs, it has not been consecutive days--I'd average wearing them once or twice a week--but still. On days when I'm not wearing them, they get very hard and crusty, and retain a fairly vile smell that I of course totally enjoy and get off on. But even after three months, even I'm starting to wonder... how much longer can I keep this up? The sweat and crust is even getting to me a bit, to a point where it's almost not even quite comfortable to wear for much longer.

They're as crusty as they look, especially the pair on the left. We're talking about 3 months unwashed, give or take.

That said, we haven't had a poll here in a long time. I want to know how long many of you have worn your socks. I'm going to go for basically consecutive days, but if you had to take a day off here or there, I'm not gonna be picky. I'd say consecutively, my record is probably just under two weeks.

It's a new year! And with it, possibly a new beginning. So I'm going to start off with a request. Presently, I don't have an online slave. (Read what happened with SBS_justin here.) But I have to admit that at the moment, I'm sort of in the mood to boss someone around and humiliate a twink. So I guess I'm putting out an open invitation to anyone who's interested.

The following is copied from my FAQ. First off, I cannot guarantee full-time enslavement. I have a full time job and relationship, and those do have to come first. I also do not do any C2C (in fact, I don't even have a webcam).

While I'll play with nearly anyone a few times (online) casually, there has to be some chemistry between the two of us for something longer term. That chemistry has to be mutual, of course. If things are looking serious, I'll have an "equal" talk with you, and we'll establish any limits, and then go from there.

Also, I'd like to point out right away that I love working with new, beginner slaves. It really turns me on to know I'm working with someone who's eager to please, and is interested in getting their first experience with slaving. And online is a very safe way to go about it. Still interested? Then here's my demands and rules summed up. It looks like a lot, and may be overwhelming if you're a novice. But we can take things slow if you're not certain, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

For one thing, I generally like the slave to be younger than me (but over 18, the legal age here in the USA).
Since I already have a full time job and relationship, don't expect constant attention. You'll be doing my bidding frequently or infrequently, at my whim. You'd just be a disposable toy to me.
The ability to send pics and video of yourself. Although I might not show mine. I'm not here to please you. You should be willing to show your face and body to me, at least over time. NOTE: Such pics would remain private, between us, unless you give me permission to post them. I do respect your privacy, even as a Master.
You should also have similar interests as me: feet, bondage, humiliation, abuse, and possibly gunge.
I like humiliating guys and forcing them to do demeaning things.
You would need to purchase a dog collar and bowl, and other various supplies as I see fit to abuse yourself with.
Also, if you really want to be a slave, then beg for it. Send me a short email pleading and begging to me why you should be my slave, and what you are willing to do for me. When you do, all references to yourself should be lower case ("i", "me", "slave"), and references to me are capitalized ("You", "Sir", "Master"). A good slave has to follow my directions. The more you plead, whimper, and properly obey, the more of my attention you'll have.

I do have a Yahoo and MSN/Windows Live profile, but I pretty much only use them when chatting with slaves. If anyone is interested in infrequent or one time sessions, contact me, and we'll see what I can arrange. But I make no promises, and please don't take it personally if it doesn't work out, or I ignore you for long stretches. Sometimes it's more my schedule and availability than my actual interest.

So I recently got myself some Vetrap. It's an elastic tape that sticks to itself, but not skin. I've seen it before on mummification, and I wanted to give it a try. It's quite affordable at about $4 roll. Now, as it was my first time, I didn't know how many rolls to get, so I took a gamble and got 5. I actually didn't think that would be enough, and I sort of thought a first wrapping would have gaps and bands between. To my surprise, though, 5 wraps did cover my body from the ankles to the shoulder (although just barely). I would get 6 or 7 to be safe, next time.

I have to say, it was a great sensation. Very tight and confining, but didn't catch any skin or hair. Stretches a bit, so you can pull it tight, and still have a little bit of give.

Since there were some gaps in the wrapping, my BF decided to use some mitts on me, and add some chains that he attached to my ankles so that my hands couldn't move much.

Now, my BF, who did the wrapping, did say it was a bit of a pain to work with. It wanted to stick to itself a bit too much. I can testify to that a bit when I tried to roll them back up for possible reuse later. The edges will definitely be a bit off and there won't be clean lines should we reuse them, as you can see below.

They almost stick too well to themselves. Also, it did make getting out of the mummy a bit more of a headache. Usually when mummified, I can either just zip out of it if I'm in a sleepsack, or get cut out with safety scissors. How my BF ties me

I recently got a very nice email from someone who said he was a fan of the ropework I present here in my original content. He was even interested in meeting with us to learn more... that was pretty cool! That's really a compliment for my boyfriend Sam, who does basically all the ropework you see me in here. But Sam is a very private person, so I don't think he'll be leading a class anytime soon. But it did prompt me to ask him how he does his ropework, and I learned some interesting things from him!

He enjoys symmetry.
He basically improvises, and goes off his instinct.
He ties in ways that would turn him on to see.
He believes in "less is more" bondage. Using a minimum of rope to achieve maximum bondage.

I think #3 is the most interesting one to me. It really simplifies things, and it actually parallels how I work with slaves. Sometime ago I discussed how I come up with tasks for slaves. I responded by saying I order what I'd like to see done to me, for the most part. Odd how we have very similar approaches.

And while I do certainly enjoy having rope everywhere, I do agree that there's something to be said about the less is more technique. I still remember years later a post in TieGuyUK where he bound a guy, thumbs to big toes in a similated hogtie, using two small cable ties. And that was it. Very immobilizing with maybe 8 inches total of restraint equipment? Hot!

I'm posting a pic where I used the same approach. My victim is sitting in a chair with wrist and ankle restraints on. I used one 6 foot rope, and fed it through each of the restraints and tied it off to a support of the chair. He told me it was quite effective.
